Fired Earth
Fired Earth began in 1983 by selling terracotta floor tiles. Demand for other stylish tiles grew, and wall tiles were added alongside stones and slates. By the mid-1990s, the business had grown from its farmhouse beginnings in Oxfordshire to 50 showrooms nationwide. As it grew, the company added paint and bathrooms to its collections.
The company aims to offer products produced with authenticity, creativity and style and, where possible, handmade and made as close to home as possible.
Fired Earth has also evolved the retail experience to reflect changing consumer behaviour. The company provides almost all its collections to browse and buy online, complementing its high street presence.

Zeal Hotels | Mindfully Modern
Zeal has been working on a sustainable hotel for over three years. The hotel sector is way behind other industries in addressing the issues they face around carbon emissions, our consumption and activities and recognises that, by 2050, we have to operate on a carbon net zero basis.
Established in 2012, Zeal Hotels aims to acquire strategic hotel sites, develop the hotels and maintain ownership of the assets. Motivated to reduce a hotel's carbon emissions through the construction process and operations, Zeal Hotels has launched a new brand, targeting net zero carbon, with the first UK site in the acquisition process and is seeking further development opportunities.
As an industry, we have much work to do, and it will be a lot easier and more cost-effective to operate a new-build hotel at carbon net zero if the property is designed and constructed to carbon net zero in the first place.

Lousada Properties
Lousada Properties represents a group of individual and joint ventures within Lousada Plc. They trace their origins back to 1969 when Charles Lousada established Monicourt Properties. Since then, businesses have gone from strength to strength, weathering various economic downturns to become the success it is today.
A strong balance sheet and diversified trading activity create a solid platform for the rest of the group. We are proud of our low gearing ratio, with most of the trade financed through equity. The accumulated experience and knowledge are shared with other group companies, notably RED Construction and the multi-site operations of Fired Earth.
The group has exciting partnerships in new areas, including a joint venture to build Carbon Neutral buildings entirely. We expect the future to remain both bright and strong for Lousada properties.
